Shabby Chic to Masculine Secretarial

This piece was owned by the client’s grandmother, and had been painted several times. He wanted to keep it, but the shabby chic look of it didn’t fit into his decor. After stripping part of the wood and seeing there was beautiful wood underneath, I continued to strip the whole piece. I then painted the sides and trim in black and distressed it. It was now very masculine and didn’t resemble the original piece.
