Although original, it was in excellent condition and there were no breaks in the cane. Several thin layers of paint were applied to give it dimension and highlight the curves. I never spray cane, as it would result in globs of paint. Rather I worked in light layers of paint until the colors are blended and the look is subtle. The result was a sophisticated, French look.
